We discovered this wine in Valencia and it’s become one of our favourites.
There’s more than a hint of Bordeaux to this wine, with forest fruit and a full bodied feel, but you also find leather and spice. Throw in some ripe fruit aromas and you’re getting the idea, but this is more than the sum of its parts.
Winemaker Francesc Grimalt and musician Sergio Caballero set up 4 Kilos with a garage, little investment, but the crucial thing was they had great grapes.
Using the local variety Callet with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, they make wine that aims to express a time, a place and a culture, capturing the true terroir of Mallorca.
