Wine is in the blood of Rioja-born Raul Acha, descending as he does from a long line of winemakers. His natural touch shows: the grape is allowed to shine through without too much oak, making a refined, classy wine.
The Viura grapes for this wine are grown at altitudes of 600m which helps them retain freshness. Raul has married the traditional ethos handed down in the family with modern techniques, using barrel fermentation in particular to round out the wine.
It's got delicate white peach and floral aromas. In the mouth you get a real sense of freshness balanced with a lovely rich almost buttery mouth feel. If you've never tried white Rioja, this is the perfect excuse.
