Classic Picpoul with a mineral, lemon-fresh backbone, high acidity and apple flavours. The difference between this and a cheaper version? Concentration and the obvious quality of the grapes. The length is great and goes for days.
Chateau de la Mirande is in the Languedoc, close to Montpellier. It spreads through the Mediterranean garrigue which gives of a huge complexity of scents, all of which intermingle with the vineyard.
The vines are up to 100 years old, the grapes are hand harvested and although uncertified, the Chateau adheres to organic principles.
