Little known Jurancon has been one of our favourite wine regions for many years. The wines are made in the foothills of the Pyranees - on the French side. The wines are always lively and fresh, thanks to cooling winds winding their way down the sides of the mountains, as well as two grape varieties that keep their acidity, despite the hot climate.
Castera are trailblazing and lighting a fire under this sleepy region. Their dry Jurancon is a zesty, lemon and lime fest with a honeyed tone (although still dry).
Grape varieties: Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu
