This is a wine that punches well above its price tag. It's not Sancerre, but it would hands down beat an average bottle from that region, There's a wonderfully smoky, mineral character reminiscent of good central Loire Sauvignon Blancs. Lemon rind, a touch of hedgerow, great stuff.

Domaine Guy Allion operates a 'lutte raisonee' approach to winemaking, using as little chemical intervention as possible. A 4th generation estate now headed up by Guy's son Cedric, it's a small estate that crafts sensitively made wines with character.
