Marc Isart was one of the founding members of Comando G - whose wines have lept to global superstardom but has taken a step back out of the limelight to focus on his own project - La Maldicion. La Maldicion means ‘The Curse’, a reference to the incredible steepness of the vineyards making them near impossible to work. How this wine is so cheap I do not know. It is taken from old Tempranillo vines situated at 780m altitude and farmed organically and biodynamically by one of the greatest winemakers in Spain. It is made with real skill, care and attention. If I had £12 to spend on a bottle of wine I’d be hard pressed to find anything more worthy of my money.
