Loxarel are probably one of the most experimental wineries in Penedes, an area south of Barcelona famous for its Cava.
Their Amphora white is made with the local Xarel.lo grape. Usually used to make Cava, Xarel.lo is a variety that creates light wines with flavours of green apple, lemon and almonds.
Aged for 5 months in huge teracotta amphoras, this is one of our favourite Xarel.los from the region.
