Matetic were pioneers of biodynamic and organic winemaking in Chile since their inception in 1999. They have cool climate sites, meaning that their wines have freshness and structure, as well as the body and fruit one would expect from a classic Chilean wine.
The family chose to use the word Syrah (rather than the Australian favoured word Shiraz) to denote that their Syrah is more in line with French styles, than new world fruit bombs. It’s all peppery spice and dark fruit but with a voluptuous velvetiness that one would expect from a new world wine.
