Tim and Judy Finn were pioneers of grape growing in New Zealand. They were really charting unknown territory - at the time, no-one knew which varieties would thrive so instead they just focussed on making the types of wines they loved drinking themselves. This means that they now have some of the oldest and best Pinot Noir in the whole of New Zealand. The ‘Tom’s Block’ vineyard sits in the paddock next to their family home and is named after their son. The vines are more than 20 years old and produce a Pinot with incredible depth but real vibrancy too. There is tart red berry fruit here along with a core of serious, earthy depth. Wonderful.
