A soft, fruity style of red from the heart of the Minervois sub-region in the Languedoc, Pierre Cros' 'Tradition' is a classic style of wine that's both black fruited and spicy, with flavours of garrigue herbs running through the palate.
Pierre Cros is a local winemaking legend, partially for his professional rugby playing past. He's a fan of old, forgotten vines; some of his go back to 1905. Carignan is a particular favourite; Pierre believes that with the right handling, it can create characterful, cheerful wines, a world away from Carignan's usual role of bulking out commercial Languedoc wines.
He's known locally as the 'King of Concentration' so expect something rather special.
