Ridge are truly an American classic.
Very little has changed in Ridge's winery, viticulture and even branding in the last 50 or so years. Classy to a T, we're delighted to announce that we have a small amount of their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 in stock.
The fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in the Monte Bello, Ridge's most prized vineyard. The vineyard has history dating back to 1890, and most of the vines are over 60 years old.
Ridge's Monte Bello retails for over £100. The difference between Monte Bello and the Estate wine? A barrel selection. Barrels deemed to need longer to mature go into Monte Bello bottles. Those that are deemed to be ready a little earlier go into the Estate bottles.
Aged for 18 months in American oak of varying ages, the wine is deep in colour with flavours of cassis, cedar, clove and blackberry. Fully bodied, rich and although brilliant now, will age beautifully for up to 20 years.
Vegan friendly, only a light filtration at bottling, organically grown fruit, Ridge are the masters of low intervention Californian wines.
