As complex as the name suggests, Sokol Blosser's Evolution is smooth and fruity with dark fruit, cocoa and coffee flavours. Syrah based with a touch of white, it's an hommage to the great wines of the Northern Rhone - with a bit more fruit.
The Sokol Blosser vineyard and winery is green; very green. They use biodiesel for their tractors, solar energy for their winery and they recycle paper and plastic like there's no tomorrow. They use their own organic manure from their cows that eat organic straw and the insect population is kept down by a flock of (presumably organic) bluebirds.
Their wines reflect their commitment to sustainability and the environment through hand-picking, whole berry pressing and ensuring that the wines are intervened with as little as possible.
