Verdicchio is certainly one of Italy’s more interesting white grape varieties, famed for a style of wine akin to Gavi. It’s all apple skin, lemons and other citrus fruits with a touch of almond.
The Tavignano estate was established in the 1970s but in the last few years has been handed down to the niece of the original owners, Ondine. Ondine is fanatical about producing quality Verdicchio wines and thankfully, she has some rather excellent vineyard sites to help her make her dream a reality.
