Crisp, refreshing Italian whites never go out of fashion - they’re fresh, crowd pleasing and food versatile. Forget the Pinot Grigio, though because Trebbiano is the grape you need to be drinking.
The Abruzzo mountain air, not far from Rome, means that fresh zesty notes are the story here. If you like lemon and apple inflected wines, plus a hint of minerality, this will go down a treat. There’s not a trace of the bitterness you get in cheaper bottle, so you can be sure this will go down very smoothly.
Riccardo Tiberio came into winemaking almost by accident. He stumbled across a sixty year old plot of rare Trebbiano Abruzzese and built his estate around that fantastic find. Though he has now handed the reins over to his children, the estate has kept on getting rave reviews for their sustainable, indigenous, delicious wines.
